GENERAL TRAVEL - Playing cards

Trivia - What gets its name from the Latin phrase meaning "sea in the middle of land".

We always travel with 2 packs of cards.  There are so many games you can play with them including patience for 1 if you are killing time.

In each country it is fun to learn a traditional game, this way if you see people playing your know what is going
on and can talk about it and have a chance of being invited to join in.

Games that we have continued to play have been Canasta, learnt in New Zealand, a favourite as it can be played by any number of players from 2 upwards but beware there are many variations.

We learnt "Bush rummy" in Australia and have taught many people around the world as it is a fun game for 2 upwards with elements of skilll and luck.

Our Canadian friends Kevin and Ruth taught us Euchre which is a great game but needs 4 players.

A couple of favourites amongst backpackers are "Arsehole"  (4 - 6 players and great fun) and "Shithead", 2 or more players.  Well worth learning if you want to mingle with fellow travellers.

Answer - The The Mediterranean sea
